Ducab Metals Business acquires GIC Magnet

Ducab Metals Business (DMB), a supplier of high-quality copper and aluminium rods from the United Arab Emirates, has acquired GIC Magnet. GIC Magnet offers copper and aluminium rods and wire material used in target markets such as automotive / electric vehicles / transport and electromagnet applications. With the acquisition of GIC Magnet, DMB aims to expand its product range and strengthen its presence in international markets. GIC Magnet is the only supplier from the Arab region with US market approval for paper-insulated aluminium conductor material.

DMB was founded in 2020 as part of the Ducab Group. The company produces copper and aluminium rod on two modern plants with a total installed capacity of over 235,000 tpy. DMB purchases liquid metal from Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) for the production of aluminium rods. At the Tube and Wire trade fair in Düsseldorf, DMB announced its plan to offer ‘green’ rods based on recycled aluminium. One partner is Tele-Fonika Kable, an international manufacturer of wires and cables.
