The recently signed agreement has passed the legal validation process by the competent authorities and has been approved by the French Competition Commission.
Flandria operates two extrusion presses and a melting furnace
This takeover, which is part of Exlabesa’s international expansion strategy, will strengthen its direct presence in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, allowing the company to offer high-value-added products with the highest level of service in these markets. Exlabesa will bring its investment capacity to strengthen the French company and drive its long-term growth. At the same time, Flandria will maintain a high degree of autonomy to respond most effectively to the specific needs of its market.
Flandria Aluminium, based in Warneton in the north of France, has a history of over 50 years and currently employs 170 workers. It specialises in the manufacture of aluminium profiles for the construction, industrial and transport segments. Its facilities, covering over 35,000 m², include two presses (8 and 9 inch). Additionally, it operates an aluminium melting furnace, which will allow Exlabesa to increase its low-carbon aluminium production capacity.
Exlabesa’s extrusion production: 160,000 t
Exlabesa operates on three continents through nine production centres in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Morocco, the UK, and the US. From these factories, it serves nearly 15,000 customers in 40 countries. The company employs 1,800 people and produces a total of 160,000 t of extruded profiles annually.
With the horizontal machining centre Aerocell 160 and high-volume tools, Bavius and Mapal provide users with a combination that takes machining aluminium structural parts to a new level.
